The Lion Sabatier trade mark was registered in 1812 by the original Monsieur Sabatier. Only Lion Sabatier knives feature three solid brass rivets to secure the handles (brass is more durable than steel or aluminium for this purpose) and the unique oval Sabatier logo which is stamped into each handle. These two features combined with the Lion Sabatier marque signify a true, traditional Sabatier knife. Fully Forged Knives. Made from a single billet of top grade steel, these knives have taper ground blades for optimum sharpness and cutting performance. They have an integral bolster and full tang giving excellent strength and balance. Each handle is made from a high technology plastic which is heat resistant and secured with 3 brass rivets.
