Clean the blade

Open the stop plate completely

Apply the sharpening device to the base of the machine and press it against the stop plate

Move the carriage together with the sharpening device against the blade until blade is lying in the sharpening device

Start the machine

Move the carriage with the sharpening device on it softly against the blade

Remove the edge on the right side of the blade by using the back of the sharpener while the blade is running

Repeat the grinding and the take-off operation slowly a couple of times until the blade is able to cut a sheet of paper.
